Triple Winning Weekend

It was a trio of wins for the Club' senior sides last weekend. On Saturday the 1stXI entertained last season's Premier League champions Bourne and put in what can only be described as an outstanding performance to win by 115 runs. Skipper Jack Luffman won the toss and elected to bat on a surface that, thanks to the hard work of the ground staff, dried out considerably after the week's deluge of rain.

Under-15s Crowned Champions

The under-15 side made it a third junior league title last week. The side beat Bracebridge on Monday, before Caythorpe conceded on Tuesday so it meant that if they could win their last game at home to Barkston on Wednesday they woudl take the Lincoln League title. The lads didn't disappoint and claimed a 10 wicket victory.

Firsts Extend Lead At Top

The 1stXI extended its lead to 19 points at the top of the Lincs ECB Premier League following a dominant performance at Market Deeping and a defeat for Bracebridge Heath at the hands of Sleaford. Following Friday's rain, the match was delayed by half an hour but the full 100 overs were still played and once again Spa put in a very effective and positive team display. 1940s Afternoon Tea A Huge Success

The 1940s Afternoon Tea and Refreshments held from 11am-4pm yesterday was a huge success. Selling homemade cakes, scones and sandwiches and serving teas and coffees in excess of £300 was raised for Club funds. A huge thanks to Ann Luffman and Anneka Luffman for their organsiation and hard work along with Nicki Cooke and Jenny Wilson for their much needed helping hands.

First Reach The Top

The 1st XI climbed to the top of the Lincs ECB Premier League on Saturday with a four wicket victory over lowly Grantham. Surrounded by the 1940s weekend, visiting captain Rohan Nurse won the toss and elected to bat on a flat Jubilee Park pitch and he would've been disappointed that his improving side were bowled out for just 163. He made 53 himslef and Lincolnshire Minor Counties player Dan Freeman looked in good touch for his 46 before being the first of six wickets for Spa's Malinga Bandara.

Junior Sides Claim League Titles

Two further trophies made their way to the WSCC trophy cabinet last night. Both the under-11 and under-13 teams won their scheduled league fixtures and with it claimed their respective League titles. After beating Boston on Monday evening the under-11 side needed to beat Sleaford last night and had Emma Leggate to thank as she made 12 not out, including hitting the winning boundary, to guide her side over the winning line and finish top of the league pile!

First Retain Trophy

Last night, the 1stXI retained the Stephen Bradford Trophy with a six wicket victory over Bracebridge Heath at a sun-soaked Sleaford CC. In front of good sized crowd, Bracebridge won the toss and elected to bat first and were soon in big trouble at 20-4. Spa's opening bowlers of Etienne Botha (3-18) and Alex King (1-18) had done the damage with the former claiming a wicket off the very first ball of the match via a sharp catch from Chris Anderson in the covers.

Final Action For Firsts

The 1stXI are in T20 action tonight as they take on fellow Lincs ECB high-flyers Bracebridge Heath in the final of the Stephen Bradford Trophy at Sleaford CC. Spa were the winners of the inaugural trophy last year while Bracebridge have already run the coveted Albion Cup this season so it promises to be an entertaining encounter. Play starts at 6.15pm

Four Wins Out Of Four For Senior Sides

It was a happy camp on Sunday evening as Woodhall Spa completed four victories for the senior sides over the weekend. The 1stXI completed a comprehensive nine point winning draw at Market Rasen. Batting first Spa amassed an impressive 267-7 on what was a very slow wicket.
