Woodhall Out Of National Cup

Woodhall lost on Sunday to Ticknall CC in the National Cup to a very strong Derbyshire team. A disappointing start with a couple of early dropped catches to the Ticknall skipper Paul Borrington who then went on to score 75 runs off 95 balls. With 35 wides and 1 no ball Woodhall Spa task of chasing down 267 was going to be a tough ask. With a couple of early wickets going down for the hosts with some fine bowling it took Gareth Grant (28), Keating Hoe Pike (60) off 51 balls & Michael Ackerman quick fire 21 off 25 balls for a mini revival however Woodhall fell 101 runs short. Greg Cork & Tom Kent-Smith took 3 wickets a piece. This weekend the Saturday 1st’s are away to Grantham 1st’s with the 2nd team at home to Frieston CC 1st’s. The Sunday 1st’s are home to Sleaford with the Sunday 2nd’s away to Barkston & Syston CC. Along with a spot of history this Sunday Woodhall Spa Ladies play their first ever Hardball Cricket Games against Louth & Lindum hosted by Grimoldby CC….(More To Follow)
