Woodhall 2nds Team Earn Another 20 Points

An amazing team effort was the key for victory for Woodhall Spa 2nds to earn a 7 wicket victory at home to Freiston CC. With captain duties switching to Carl Wall to deputise Simon Behan who was away for this weeks fixture every team member rallied around to support the win. Carl lost the toss and Freiston elected to put themselves into bat on a fine looking surface. Young Freddie Bailey opened up the bowling with partner in crime Kieron Richardson holding the visiting team at one point 3 wickets down for only 8 runs off 12 overs bowled. Freddie with figures of 6 overs 4 maidens for only 5 runs getting 2 wickets and Kezza off his 6 overs 1 wicket for 12 runs. To keep Freiston pinned to only 82 runs off there 34 overs was also down to some cracking fielding from Matthew Haslam & Carl Wall with some quick run outs. Then in came Pete Jackson to clean the tail up with some fine bowling picking up 3 wickets including a caught & Bowl. Alex Hodson & Sam Cherry opened up the batting and started off well before Alex fell scoring 38 runs at 57-1. Sam went next leaving Tom White moving the score along scoring 10 off 10 balls then Carl & Miles Galbraith finished the match off in just over 17 overs for a fine victory. Next week Woodhall Spa 2nds travel to Skegness CC at Richmond Drive for 1pm start.
