Under-15s Reach County Cup Final

The under-15 side reached the final of the County Cup last night with a seven wicket victory over a strong Spalding side.

On a glorious evening at Jubilee Park, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat and posted a total of 91 from their 20 overs. The bowling attack of captain Alfie Lindsey, Jack Cooke, Tom Caswell, Jamie Jenkins and Henry Wilson all carried out their duties well and were backed up by some good fielding for the most part.

In reply, the Spa top four of Niting Joachim, Wilson, Tom and Ollie Caswell all batted sensibly and were always in control of the run chase but it was the arrival of the big hitting Hugo Finley that rocketed the home side to victory and he managed to finish the game with a huge six over mid-wicket.

The boys will travel to Nettleham on Monday night for the final to take on the winners of the second sem-final between Cleethorpes and Lindum.
