Three Defeats For The Senior Teams

Not the best weekend for our senior teams over the weekend starting with a much changed 1st team travelling to last years league winners Bourne CC. The hosts top three all got 50’s on the board very quickly and from the 48.3 overs they scored 288 all out with Harry Hollingsworth getting 5 wickets for 40 runs off his 8.2 overs. Jamie Epton got 3 wickets off his 8 overs only going for 42 runs. In reply it was a tough task with some fine Bourne bowling restricting Woodhall to 226 all out of their 50 overs. However 10 points was a good result from this tough fixture, not forgetting PJ getting 60 runs, Jamie getting 44, Will Wright 46 and Gareth Grant getting 41.

The 2nd team also with a much changed side had a day they would like to forget, with poor fielding and run outs the writing was on the wall. Woodhall only got 91 runs off their 32 overs against a 10 men Bourne 2nd team with only Tom White & Kezza Richardson getting double figures. Onto the trying to defend this score with missed opportunities let the visitors chase this down within 21 overs. Kezza getting 2 wickets off his 7 overs.

Sunday 1st also tasted defeat on the road against Lindum CC after slipping further down the table. Woodhall won the toss and stand in skipper Ben Troops put his team in to bat, they reached a completive score of 177 with Ryan Hughes scoring 40 runs and three others getting mid 30’s. Lindum chased this down within 29 overs with the overseas star G Robbins getting 92 off 67 balls.
