T20 Run Ended

On Sunday the 1st XI’s T20 unbeaten run and a dream of appearing on Sky TV was ended when they lost by just 8 runs to Sheffield Collegiate.

Chasing 181 to win, a total that was based mainly around Billy Root’s (brother of England’s Joe) 75, the Spa put in a more than gallant effort largely thanks to Ben O’Brien’s 57 and Matt Sargeant’s 33 and finished on 172-8.

The side had by no means let themsleves, the Club or Lincolnshire cricket down and in fact felt that with a bit of luck and on another day it could’ve been them facing Hallam CC in the final later that day. In fact it was Hallam who won the final and are now just one game away from the televised finals day.

The side return to League action on Saturday when they host Skegness at Jubilee Park.
