Ollie Top Scores for County

One of Woodhall Spa's juniors starred with the bat for Lincolnshire yesterday. Under-11 player Ollie Caswell scored 71 opening the batting against Cambridgeshire to regsiter his maiden County half-century. He also took a wicket in the narrow 2-run defeat held at Jubilee Park.

King Crowns Trophy Win

Alex King was the star of the show last night when his five wickets blew away Bourne's middle order in the quarter-final of the Stephen Bradford Memorial Trophy held at Sleaford CC's London Road ground. King's four overs yielded four bowled and caught behind as Bourne were restricted to 107-8 from their 18 overs in pursuit of Woodhall's 168-6, a score that was based around another half-century from Jonny hceer (75) and an entertaining 45 from Ben McCarrick. Firsts Claim Final Spot

The First XI will be able to defend its Albion Cup title in a fortnight following a 60 run victory over Cherry Willingham at Bracebridge Heath last night. Batting first, the Woodhall batsmen amassed 190-3 from their 18 overs with opener Jonny Cheer continuing his fine form with 107 not out. (This century followed on from a League hundred on Saturday and an unbeaten 78 for Lincolnshire in the second innings of their victory over Northumberland on Tuesday).

Narrow Defeat

The under-15 side narrowly lost to a strong Caythorpe side by 28 runs last night in the semi-final of the County Cup. Chasing 107 for victory the home side were bowled out for 78. For full scorecard click here.

Double Delight for Saturday Teams

It was a double winning Saturday for the 1st and 2nd XI teams as they overcame Grimsby Town and Skegness respectively. At home, the 1st XI amassed 278-5 thanks in the main to 130 not out from opening batsman Jonny Cheer and a solid 61 from Sri Lankan professional Malinga Bandara. He then followed up with 6-39 as the visitors were restricted to 153-9 meaning 18 points were collected from the contest.

Big Weekend Ahead

The 1stXI will be looking to bounce back this week after two disappointing results when they face Grimsby Town at home. The side will be without the services of vice-captain Matt Sargeant so 15-year-old Lewis Holmes, who has impressed for the 2ndXI and in senior 20/20 fixtures, will get another chance to make his ECB debut after the cancelation of the Skegness match a fortnight ago. Connor Parsons will also return to action after a lengthy injury absence.
