England Legends To Play At Jubilee Park

WOODHALL Spa Cricket Club’s Jubilee Park ground will be graced by some of the game’s greatest ever England players this Spring.

On June 1st an England Legends side will visit the Lincolnshire club to play a 20/20 encounter against the Spa’s own 1stXI.  The Legends will be managed by former International bowler Ed Giddins and will consist of 11 players who have all played for their country at the highest level including the likes of Ashes 2005 heroes Geraint Jones, Simon Jones, Matthew Hoggard and Steve Harmison as well as one-day specialists Darren Maddy and Paul Nixon to name but a few. A full list of the squad is expected to be announced very soon.

The day, which will be sponsored by Crowders Nurseries of Horncastle, will see the fixture commence at 3pm when it is hoped the two sides will provide 40 overs of high-energy, entertaining cricket and will be another huge fundraising effort to further boost the Club’s junior and disability sections and facilities.

Preparations for the day are already underway and Secretary of the Club John Luffman, who will oversee the organisation of the day, is hoping the event will provide another memorable day for the Club and village. He said: “We now have a very good relationship with Ed Giddins and he will ensure that he brings a full side of England’s Legends who will provide an afternoon of entertainment for cricket and sport lovers.”

Entrance to the public is £6 per adults and £4 for concessions all with free parking.

There will also be Corporate tables available and other sponsorship opportunities with further information available by contacting john.luffman@sky.com or 01526 569114.
