Disappointing Day Away At Grantham

With Woodhall Spa 1st heading to Gorse Lane to play a strong Grantham 1st XI team after a very good start Woodhall will be disappointed not to have got more out of this fixture. A few changers were needed to the side which meant Ethan Garner made his first ECB fixture for Woodhall after playing at Skegness last season and moving to the Spa, along with Keating Hoe Pike coming behind the stumps after his previous good performance in the Cup last Sunday scoring 60 runs. Again unfortunately early dropped catches may have cost Woodhall when putting these down and batters then putting runs on the sheet. Matthew Carter took another five wickets with Alex King & Prasanna Jaywardene taking two each with Grantham setting a score of 231-9 off 50 overs. Pj & Zach Richmond Dixon started off well with a 50 partnership however two quick wickets put Woodhall on the back foot. Ollie Caswell came in to settle the ship scoring 25 off 51 balls however until Harry Hollingsworth came in scoring 41 off 39 balls Woodhall fell short by 29 runs 202 all out.
