Big Weekend Ahead

The 1stXI will be looking to bounce back this week after two disappointing results when they face Grimsby Town at home. The side will be without the services of vice-captain Matt Sargeant so 15-year-old Lewis Holmes, who has impressed for the 2ndXI and in senior 20/20 fixtures, will get another chance to make his ECB debut after the cancelation of the Skegness match a fortnight ago. Connor Parsons will also return to action after a lengthy injury absence.

The 2ndXI travel to Skegness to take on the Seasiders’ second string looking for a morale boosting victory while on Sunday a Friendly XI, skippered by Danny Wells, will take on Upton at home with Pete Epton’s Wanderers 2ndXI making the short journey to play Sleaford Academy in what will see a wide array of junior talent on show for both sides.

Also on Sunday, 1stXI players Jonny Cheer and Matt Sargeant will be in action for Lincolnshire on Day 1 of their 3 day MCCA Championship fixture away at Northumberland.
